Hospitality House Refugee Ministry is now accepting expressions of interest for potential co-sponsors in Winnipeg.

Hospitality House is going to randomly select co-sponsors by using a lottery system, and they will have the chance to apply for sponsorship for refugees they identify. In order to promote lottery integrity and ensure fairness among participants, the following rules on the EOI will be applied:

• Priority will be given to co-sponsor applicants who have never sponsored through Hospitality House before.
• Each EOI must include information about two eligible co-sponsors. If one co-sponsor applicant repeats their name and information instead of the second co-sponsor, the EOI will not be considered.
• Both co-sponsors can submit no more than two completed EOIs. Attempts that exceed the maximum allowed number will not be counted and will not be part of the random selection. Therefore, co-sponsors must carefully prioritize the refugees they are planning to sponsor. In case a co-sponsor applicant fills multiple EOIs, Hospitality House will not give out more spots.
• Co-sponsors are only allowed to fill out one Interest to Sponsor Form per refugee families. Multiple entries and duplications related to the same family will be eliminated.
• Transferring sponsorship spaces to another person is not allowed. The spots won in 2024 will not be transferred to the following years.
• Co-sponsor applicants from provinces, other than Manitoba in Canada will not be accepted.

How to participate in the lottery:

Submitting the EOI is the first step in participating in the lottery system. EOIs that fail to comply with the program requirements will not be considered. The EOI form is not an application for sponsorship, and completing it does not guarantee a spot. Co-sponsors selected in the lottery will be contacted, and will be required to complete a mandatory RSTP training session. Additionally, selected co-sponsors have to deposit required administration fee and settlement funds before we submit their applications.

The EOI form is only available for a limited period of time. 

The deadline to complete and submit the EOI form is Monday, March 25, 2024 at 6:00 pm The form will be taken offline after the deadline and applicants will not be able to submit an EOI.
